Leipzig and history

We arrived and was warmly welcomed by one of our new friends from Dresden! Clara instantly received a massage and we took off our shoes in the park to cook some food. With her we shared dreams, stories of how we were going to bike all night.

Yes we biked almost all night just to try it out, a special feeling of liberty and uncertainty. When you only see what’s in front of you and of course each other since we have strong back lights and reflexes. It all ended up with us sleeping in a bank in Mรผgeln being waked up some drunk germans at 04.00 trying to get us to the train. The result was beautiful naps here and there all the way to Leipzig.

We also shared quotes and experiences and got to see her first tattoo. Still on paper but she is going for it. Incredible meaning! We shared a lot of love and then departed with a list of life changing books. Will surely look em up! And now we also got help and connections all over Australia. Now we really have to get there ๐Ÿ˜‰
Then we went on to our first being hosted experience and arrived to the most beautiful garden with a fully prepared vegetarian meal! How nice!? We shared some stories and were told about germans in general. They offered us to come inside for whatever we wanted before we totally blacked out after the last night.

One night became another due to their hospitality and we went around town to see the Thomas church, the workplace of my father’s favorite composer whom he also is named after, Johan Sebastian Bach. Beautiful church and a cool friendly band who took our photograph in front of the statue.

Then Google told us Clara Zetkin, the woman Clara is named after, apparently had a park nearby! We had no idea she was from Leipzig ๐Ÿ˜€ Of course we strolled around her park and took some pictures aswell as eating icecream.
We read all the details about her life before heading back to our hosts who treated us with pizza and wine. A lot of shared experiences and help with routes. These are the same hosts who brought us fresh coffee and cookies the same morning.

The next day we managed to bike away despite their lovely garden and the routes they provided us with. Beautiful and easy even though Clara was a bit tired of the whole experience ๐Ÿ˜›

Now we’re heading towards eisenach, hopefully some skydiving and also hopefully meeting our friends along the way ๐Ÿ˜€ โค

      Hey Manuel!
Thank YOU, we were really impressed by your experience of biking and the speed you had pedaling away. It took us a few hours to reach the campsite ‘Bergwinkel’ but we slept so good! We hope we meet again on the roads and until then we hope we can inspire you by our stories ๐Ÿ˜€
      Best wishes
